Features are the basic building blocks of 3D modelling within SolidWorks. They are used to transform your sketch geometry into solid bodies. In essence, they are the shapes that when combined together, form your parts and assemblies. Some of these features don’t necessarily rely on sketches and can be applied to edges and faces of existing geometry, such as fillets and chamfers.
